The Window Is
Conventional engineered quartz contains up to 93% crystalline silica. When cut or shaped, it produces fine silica dust — and prolonged exposure causes silicosis, an irreversible and potentially fatal lung disease.
The regulatory response across global markets has followed a consistent pattern: initial guidance, tightening controls, mandatory limits, and — for businesses that moved too slowly — legal and reputational consequence.
Australia has already implemented some of the world's strictest silica dust regulation. The US and Spain have tightened significantly. The UK HSE continues to strengthen its position.
The question is not whether the industry will move.
It is whether you move before or after your competitors.
Australia
World's strictest silica dust regulation now in force. Engineered stone ban implemented for benchtop fabrication.
In Force
United States
OSHA permissible exposure limits tightened significantly. Ongoing enforcement and state-level supplementary regulation.
Tightened
Spain
Engineered stone regulations strengthened following significant silicosis diagnoses in the fabrication sector.
Tightened
United Kingdom
HSE enforcement activity increasing. Regulatory tightening anticipated in alignment with broader European direction.
Tightening
European Union
Occupational exposure limits under review. Progressive tightening across member states expected over the near term.

Built from Both Ends of the Supply Chain.
One founder has spent her life at the source. The other has spent his at the point of installation. Terra Vante Global exists because they saw the same problem from opposite ends — and decided to fix it together.
Simon Roberts
Simon Roberts is one of the UK's most experienced operators in the premium surfaces and installation sector. As CEO of Vogue Worktops, he oversees more than 8,000 quartz installations per year — achieving a right-first-time rate consistently above 99%.
That number is not a marketing figure. It is the result of relentless operational standards, supplier accountability, and a deep understanding of what happens when materials and supply chains underperform at scale. At 8,000+ installs annually, there is no room for average.
Simon built Terra Vante Global because he saw the problem from the inside. He knew which supply chains were fragile. He knew what zero-silica quartz would mean for the fabricators and installers who work with these materials every day — the people whose lungs carry the cost of an industry that moved too slowly on safety.
His mission is straightforward: to bring the safest, most commercially intelligent quartz supply system the UK has ever seen. Not because it is the right thing to say. Because he has been on the installation side long enough to know exactly what it costs when it does not exist.
"The industry has known about crystalline silica for years. We decided to stop waiting for it to change itself."

Rita Willoughby
Rita Willoughby's connection to manufacturing in China is not professional. It is generational. Her family has been embedded in Chinese manufacturing for hundreds of years. The relationships, the cultural fluency, the trust that makes direct manufacturer access genuinely work — these are not things Rita built through a sales process. They are things she was raised inside.
Educated in Hong Kong with a background in international business management and based in the UK, Rita occupies a rare position: she understands both worlds with equal depth, and she has spent her career turning that dual fluency into something commercially tangible. As founder of Basilica Stone, she built a sourcing operation grounded in manufacturer trust, rigorous quality standards, and a genuine belief that the product you put your name on should be one you are proud of.
Rita believes in zero-silica quartz wholeheartedly — not because the market is moving toward it, but because she has seen what manufacturing at the highest level produces and she cares deeply about the finish, the safety, and the integrity of what ultimately arrives on a UK worktop. That care is what makes the 10-year signed supply agreement with Terra Vante's primary manufacturer possible. You do not get that kind of commitment from a catalogue relationship.
"When you know where something comes from, who made it, and what went into it — you supply it differently. That is what direct from source actually means."

A Higher Standard.
Simon and Rita did not start Terra Vante Global to build another materials business. They started it because they share a belief that this industry can — and must — operate at a higher standard. Higher for workers. Higher for the planet. Higher for the communities that are too often invisible to the businesses that benefit most from the world's resources.
The planet gives us everything we work with. Every surface, every stone, every raw material that goes into the buildings we live and work in. That abundance carries a responsibility — not as a marketing footnote, but as a commercial commitment embedded into how Terra Vante operates from the ground up.
This is why zero-silica quartz is the flagship product, not an option. Why the Carma partnership means every transaction through Terra Vante contributes to verified reforestation. Why a portion of every order supports veterans and addresses homelessness in the UK. Not bolted on. Built in.
And it is why Terra Vante is building something beyond a supply business — a model that helps companies embed purpose into their procurement and sales systems, so that positive impact is not a CSR box to tick at year end. It is at the core of how they grow.
Because Simon and Rita both believe the same thing: growth and positive impact do not have to pull in opposite directions. The businesses that align them will be the ones that define this industry's next decade.

Built for programme scale.
Terra Vante Global is built for serious procurement. Minimum order quantities typically start at container-load volume, and most of our partnerships are programme-scale — multi-unit residential developers, hotel groups, distributors, fit-out programmes, specifier portfolios. If you're sourcing at that scale, or heading there, we'd welcome a conversation. Get in touch — or book a thirty-minute call with Simon or Rita — and we'll confirm whether your volumes align with our working parameters before any specification or sample work begins.
